<p><br/></p><p>_A story on Farming and Agriculture_</p><p><br/></p><p>His name was *Emeka*. </p><p>He finished university with a BSc in Computer Science. </p><p>Family said: "Get a bank job." "Office job is better." </p><p>But Emeka went back to his village in Ogun State and told his dad, </p><p>"Daddy, I want to farm."</p><p><br/></p><p>They laughed. "Farming is for people who failed school."</p><p><br/></p><p>First year was painful. </p><p>He planted maize the old way. Rain didn’t come. Pests came. </p><p>He harvested ₦40,000 after spending ₦120,000. </p><p>Debt. Shame. "I told you," they said.</p><p><br/></p><p>But Emeka remembered one thing from school: *"Problems are data. Data can be solved."*</p><p><br/></p><p>*Year 2: He changed the game*</p><p>Instead of quitting, he combined *tech + soil*. </p><p>1. *Soil testing*: He sent soil to the lab. Found out it needed compost, not just fertilizer.</p><p>2. *Solar irrigation*: No more praying for rain. Small solar pump + drip lines.</p><p>3. *WhatsApp market*: He joined 5 "Mama Market" groups and posted harvest before planting.</p><p>4. *Learning*: He attended free training from LSETF and IITA on vegetable farming.</p><p><br/></p><p>He stopped planting only maize. He planted *tomatoes, pepper, ugu, and onions* — things people buy every week.</p><p><br/></p><p>*Year 3: From 1 plot to 10 plots*</p><p>Restaurants started calling: "Emeka, we need 5 baskets every Friday." </p><p>He hired 4 youths from the village. Paid them weekly. </p><p>He taught them: "Agriculture is not suffering. Agriculture is business."</p><p><br/></p><p>Today, Emeka’s farm is called *"GreenWiFi Farms"*. </p><p>Why? "Because I planted WiFi in the soil — data, timing, and connection."</p><p><br/></p><p>He now supplies 12 restaurants in Lagos. </p><p>And every Saturday, 20 young people come to learn "smart farming" for free.</p><p><br/></p><p>His dad, who laughed first, now tells neighbors: </p><p>*"My son didn’t leave school. He took school to the farm."*</p><p><br/></p>
At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
