From #5000 To A Brand: Bamzy's story

_A story on Entrepreneurship_

Her name was *Bamzy*.

She was a corper in Lagos, posted to a school. Salary: ₦33k.

After rent, transport, and food, nothing was left.

One day she made earrings for her sister’s birthday with beads she bought for ₦2,500.

3 girls in church asked, "Where did you buy this? I want one."

Bamzy said, "I made it."

They said, "Make for me too. I’ll pay ₦3,000."

That was day 1 of *BAMZY JEWELRY*.

*Year 1: Hustle Mode*

No shop. No website. Just her bedroom table, Instagram page, and delivery guy.

Challenges came fast:

- *Money*: No capital. She used profit to buy more beads.

- *Doubt*: "Jewelry? Who will buy?" "This business won’t last."

- *Failure*: 20 posts, 2 likes. One big order cancelled.

But Bamzy had 3 rules:

1. *Start small, but start* - ₦5,000 was enough to start

2. *Learn in public* - She posted every design, even the ugly ones

3. *Serve 1 person like 100* - Every customer got packaging, thank you note, and follow-up

*Year 2: The Break*

A bride wore Bamzy’s bridal set to her wedding. Posted it. 10,000 views.

DMs flooded in. "I need this for my wedding." "Can you do bulk?"

Bamzy reinvested. She got a small kiosk. Hired 1 apprentice.

She learned pricing, branding, customer service the hard way.

When NEPA took light, she worked with solar lamp. When suppliers failed, she found new ones.

*Year 3: Splendiferous*

Today, *BAMZY JEWELRY* is not just earrings.

It’s 4 staff. It’s bridal sets. It’s corporate gifts. It’s students learning jewelry-making on Saturdays.

Bamzy still makes pieces herself. She says:

*_"Entrepreneurship is not about having big money.

It’s about solving one person’s problem, and doing it so well they tell 10 people."__

Her ₦5,000 start is now a brand that makes women feel _splendiferous_ — luxurious, eye-catching, and unforgettable ✨

---

*What this story teaches about Entrepreneurship:*

1. *Start with what you have.*

 Skills + ₦5,000 + Phone > Waiting for ₦5M

2. *Problems are the business.*

"Women want to feel fine for events but jewelry is expensive" = Opportunity

3. *Consistency beats capital.*

Post. Deliver. Improve. Repeat. That’s how trust is built.

4. *Entrepreneurs build people, not just products.*

Bamzy trained an apprentice. Now 2 families are eating.

__"Entrepreneurship is planting today, watering in darkness,

and harvesting when people finally see the tree."__
