“Olodo! Olodo! Olodo!” At every mathematics class, I heard the word. Gosh, I was tired. 😭😭😭

Olodo the word that shaped my primary and secondary school story.

Now, I hear that there is an “Olodo Uprising” in the context of celebrating fame over intelligence, while choosing to turn a blind eye to it. I am so surprised that we are allowing this to happen to the next generation because of our ignorance.

My story is simple and short.

In Primary 3, my mathematics teacher beat me to the extent that I had a cut on my eye, simply because I changed my answer after the instruction, “Exchange your book. Let your partner mark your classwork.”

The next day, my mom came to thank my class teacher and even gave her money, along with a chilled Coke.

I am sure you know why I changed my answer while some others did not.

I was tired of being called out in class and looked down upon by my friends.

I reacted to the problem in the wrong way.

And that is the same mistake I think this generation is making by allowing the systemic problems in our environment and the nation at large to determine the way we react to problems.

We ignore the problem and glorify it because it produces what we see as temporary money or temporary results.

I would have been part of the Olodo Uprising, but my mom killed it at a small stage before it could grow into what would become an Olodo lineage or generation.

The Olodo we did not see coming is actually the upcoming generation that may result in an Olodo War because of our ignorance.

Knowledge lasts forever, while fame can go down at any time. But knowledge can be passed from one generation to another.

This is why we must take the right steps to permanently solve a problem, rather than settle for temporary results.

Celebrate values, not just money.

Ask questions such as, “Are we celebrating ignorance or authenticity?” to check your mentality and mindset.

Challenge AI responses and the posts we see online. Do not accept everything simply because it is popular, viral, or profitable.

If we do not question what we are celebrating and what we are passing on to the next generation, we may unknowingly build a generation that values fame over knowledge.

The Olodo Uprising is not something we should wait to see before we act.

Let us stop it in our time.

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
