So there's this concept in the psychology

of money by Morgan housel, that I love

so much and I think about it t all the time.

It is called the man in the car paradox. So

imagine you see a guy drive up in a

Lamborghini and his assumption is like he

want people to notice him and think like

wow he is so successful, he is so cool but

the thing is that when you see somebody

in a really expensive car you are not

thinking wow that must be so impressive.

What you think is imagine if that was me,

imagine I was the one driving up in the

fancy car. It is the same thing as a person

posting a vacation photo who thinks

people are admiring their life but really

people are just puturing themselves in the

photo of their lifw and imagining

themselves living the same thing. So what

is really happening is that people aren't

admiring you for the great things that you

are showing off. They are just feeling bad

because they wish they will be admired

for the things you are showing off but

nobody is admiring that is the paradox

here, there's actually no admiration

happening.

Studies show that we actually spend the

majority of the time in social situations

thinking about ourselves, how we are

coming across, how we are measuring up

to others but the catch is that everyone is

doing the same thing simultaneously, so

we are performing for an audience that

they themselves are too busy performing

to watch us.

The practical implication is basically that

nobody is thinking about you as much as

you think they are which is actually very

liberating. Just buy the car because you

like the car, do the work because it

matters to you, live the life that actually

make sense for you because the audience

that you imagine you are performing for is

never really watching anyway

.

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

We pick the top 3.

Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
