The urge to be different

The urge to be different doesn't arises as an independent factor. Since the day an individual is born, we come across different things as we interact in the society. I remember when I was young , I had some of my friend who thought having asthma was a flex. you know what I mean.This only shows that whether this difference was good or bad , everyone desperately wants to feel different or " special". The question is why do we always have the urge to be different or special from others in the society?Do not get me wrong , I am not saying "oh, if you feel different or special, it is wrong", that is not the essence of this message. What I want people to realize is that , this is urge to be addressed as "ah tope is not like all this other girls oh, she might be fat but she is very beautiful " , it is not something that we discovered rather it is how the society has fashioned our mindset. Growing up we have heard different kinds of things, we have been raised to think that ,there has to be something special about us in order for us to be an important part of the society. I can remember very clearly that when I was young I had seriously injured the sole of my feet and they had to bandage it up for me. When I went to school , I had to wear slippers and not the usual sandals. There was this feeling in my heart, I felt special. Like do you know how crazy it is to be feeling special because I am wounded. And this shows to what extent our minds have been crafted , manipulated and influenced to think that if you do what every other person is doing in the society then you are just there. Many things like, " if you are thin, you have to be a model otherwise you are just underweight"," If you are fat , you have to cute and curvy otherwise you are just overweight", "If you are facially unattractive, you have to be intelligent otherwise you are just ugly","If you are beautiful, your finances have to complement it otherwise you are just poor",Many things said to us , that is why I believe majority of people in the society don't have individual identities rather we just fit ourselves into a particular stereotypes. Growing up is realizing that, God has blessed everyone with our own uniqueness but it is something that is forced in order to be different from others or to be considered an indisposable member of the society rather it is what you discover as you grow in life. Just remember that, there is nothing like "indisposable" member of the society. This is the aspect where equality reigns because whether rich or poor , the society can turn on anyone. And yes , to the people that like saying " I don't eat Eba😩"( they will now be feeling like Merlin😒), nobody likes eating eba, it is just that some of us can bear with it.
