To be "King"

If you think men are kings try ruling an empty throne room. No bronze nor gold, no heat nor cold, no victory nor loss, just another man with hanging petals of ideals and dreams.

And if seeking comfort was easy ask the homeless kings, Speech is addressed to a cold wall, and they lay on hard rock for slumber. Having to confide in the world's becoming.

"You should talk about it". But there's only silence to speak to.

"You shouldn't react this way". But when there were weights to lift I endured in your absence.

"I feel...", "you should...", "you shouldn't...", but when my heart needed solace, needed you, needed comfort all you did was watch me burn for you, cut every bit of my being, making me a 'you' you always wanted for you.

Where were you?! Where are you?!

The wall's broken, so I'd rather chug on my words with an addiction I label as 'coping mechanism'.

Could be sex, drugs, could be self harm, or just deliberately trying another one of the one thousand ways to die. Just one thing to make me feel alive again.

Oh well,

For the sixth and probably seventh time,

"This wouldn't be me again".

" This wouldn't be me again".

" I'll take the silence" ,

"I'll bargain with the void" ,

Because everyone tells you how to live but won't listen to the same damn message they give us.

Call it toxic, egoistic, pessimistic,

Kings would forever be this.

Not because they rule a kingdom,

But for the crown of thorns they wear.
