A Life Cut Short

On July 26, 2026 a life was taken.

Ibrahim Pilasar Mbaya also known as Ibee, a 25 year old graduate of the University of Jos and a model was beaten to death by a mob.

He was falsely accused of stealing a phone after staying overnight due to a social event.

He was subjected to hours of brutal torture— he was tied up, suspended and beaten with wooden planks so they could get a confession out of him.

He later became unconscious and was rushed to the Jos University Teaching Hospital and was pronounced dead on arrival.

Hearing this broke something inside of me. I can't even begin to fathom what he went through. For hours he was tortured by a mob to get a confession of something he was falsely accused of. Even if he did the steal the phone, why beat him up to death? Why would you torture him for hours? Just why? What ever happened to getting authorities involved, rather than taking matters into your own hands?

I'm sure this isn't how Ibee pictured he was going to leave the world. He didn't picture dying at 25 or beaten to death by a mob of something he was falsely accused of. He had plans and a very bright future that was unfortunately cut short.

I heard that four suspects have been arrested, and every other person involved in this abominable act should be arrested.

#JusticeForIbee
