A SHORT WARRIOR’S STORY.

A short warrior’s story..

A victorious Waterloo.

Hoorah!!

Their scream was the new song of the clan. Their blood had moistened the soil. Stories will be told of the great man slayer and his army, who widowed women and cut down valiant men and warriors alike.

He quaked mountains and rode fiercely into battles with a majestic dark stallion and a steeled sword painted with the blood of men. His signature entrance into the battlefield was with a high cackle.

The great warrior had sadly passed away in his palace. Reason unknown but his story lives on. Even in his demise, the kingdom never lost a battle. It was like the shamans had evoked his spirit to follow the warriors to war granting them the speed, strength, courage, skill and power to face their enemies.

Legend says that he lost the war of love and committed suicide. Some say his organs failed due to sustained and untreated injuries. Some even say that the enemy witches cursed him to sleep mysteriously. No one knows about the great warrior’s death.

“What an anecdote Dad.” A young boy said with pure innocence. A fair lady passed and smiled at the two of them, the father and the son. She brought in two skins of water and sat with them on the woven mat.

The boy’s mother was a popular artisan and the father, well let’s say the father was someone.

“Mum, I want to be that soldier.” He proclaimed as he stood up and posed with his chest out.

“You are teaching him violence my warrior.”

“I’m teaching him what I don’t want him to be.”

“Then teach him the way forward.” She said with a pleading look. Her eyes began to shimmer.

“Son, they are senseless wars that only causes more wars.” He said calmly.

“I want to be a soldier!!! The man brought fear and made his enemies tremble!” The boy exclaimed.

“What if the soldier did it to please the king? Is that fair on his part?” He questioned

“I guess so. If it’s not his intention, then why do it?”

“The soldier did it for love. For the love of his country to not be invaded anymore but most importantly, he did it for love.” The woman said passionately and stared at her husband.

“Huhh?”

“He got greedy and praises. It made him mad. He wanted more. He almost became a merciless conqueror who took lands if no one bowed to him.

He died to be reborn, son.” He said calmly.

“So the legend is true, he died but to be reborn. Oooh!! To come back with great powers and more strength?” He said with pure innocence.

They laughed.

“Another time.”
