ENDLESS THOUGHTS IN THE DARK

ENDLESS THOUGHTS IN THE DARK

No birds tweet. No sweet music booming from the neighborhood. Only discord, neighbors’ squabbles that took forever to be settled. Vehicles honking and zooming on the scorching asphalt. Incessant wailing and screaming of children who roamed the streets. Yep, that was a normal morning here.

Why must every wake and every rest be forlorn? Was that a normal youth cycle? Waking up feeling dispirited, not soaking up positivity and going to bed dissatisfied and depressed? No wonder some become nocturnal.

But I do prefer night rest. Aside from the nocturnal state, it could be tiring at times, but it was the only way I could feel more adult. I can stay hours just thinking about how I will crush my enemies.

Personally, I loved that aspect. It made me powerful.

Sometimes I imagined the perfect relationship were true love dwelt. Serene and beautiful.

Snap!!! Reality check. Just a facade.

Most times, I think about misfortune and terrible things for myself, seasoned with selfishness and self pity.

Yes, it happens. Yes, it occurs.

Has positivity ever stayed for long? I can’t really recall because this life can be cruel and unfair.

    Replacing the verb “can”

    Life is cruel and unfair.

If only I were an owl, I will hoot to the world that the night hasn’t gone to rest. A soul still lingers and cries for help. Help to sleep well.

Il est une heure du matin!! Mon Dieu!!

Can’t I shut my eyes and end this plotless movie?

But I couldn’t, my lips were sealed shut, but my mind was active and my companion.

Probably doctors haven’t done proper scanning of our heads. There should be a lip like tissue active somewhere in that brain of ours. I reckoned.

Well. Off to start this day with the tiniest of hope.

Truly I hope it does turn out well.
