DON'T ASK ME WHAT I SAW CHAPTER THREE- The Grip

I woke up screaming and soaked in sweat.

I looked around, only to realize it had been a dream.

I looked out through the window, and it was already morning.

“Phewww…” I breathed out in relief.

What a night!

I stood up to leave the bed, only for a sharp pain to surge through my legs.

I checked my ankles and saw grip marks on them.

“Oh no…”

It wasn't a dream.

I must not spend another night here. Otherwise, I might not survive.

Back at my grandma's place, she usually spread ashes at my door entrance to keep them from entering my room.

As I was still trying to figure out how to walk with my legs, the door opened and Daniel walked in alone, although I was expecting to see Dani.

We exchanged greetings, and he asked me how I was feeling.

I told him I was better than yesterday, which was a big lie.

He gave me a bag and asked me to go change so we could head to his house.

I went to the bathroom and started changing.

When I was done, I took a look at myself and almost fainted at the sight in front of me.

I looked terrible, and my hair was even worse.

I quickly used some water to touch it up before going out to meet him.

We checked me out of the hospital, completed the necessary procedures, and headed to the car park.

He noticed that I was having difficulty walking properly and asked if I needed help.

I told him I could manage.

He nodded, then told me to wait as he headed towards a car, which I assumed was his.

It was a BMW. It looked quite expensive.

Even though I knew almost nothing about cars, I could still tell an expensive car when I saw one.

He drove towards me and asked me to get in.

I got in and had to pretend not to be impressed because the car looked so clean, with its brown leather seats and spotless interior.

Everything looked so neat and well put together.

I quietly settled into the seat and tried not to look too amazed.

Daniel started the car and drove out of the hospital parking lot.

I looked at him briefly.

For some strange reason, I felt safe around him.

I just didn't know why.
