Fine line (Ep 2)

You guys!!!

The whole night was slow.

Goddddd it took forever for daybreak.

Or maybe it’s because Tunde was on my mind.

Meh, scratch that.

Next morning, I woke up by 4 a.m., prayed, brushed my teeth, had my bath—it took almost an hour, but abeg, I must smell nice for my man. Sorry, my work friend.

I packed my braids up with a claw clip. You know that sexy style? Yeah, that’s the one.

I wore my recommended glasses, a baby pink shirt with the first three buttons unhooked, and a black knee-length skirt with stiletto heels.

The glasses weren’t for style o, not me trying to look like a corporate Mia Khalifa. It’s recommended, abeg.

I ordered a ride, and honestly, why is this office so far from my house? Or maybe I was just overly excited to see that man.

God, after all the shege men have shown me, this one should just be the last, I beg. Just make him my man.

I smiled while looking out the window till I got to the office. Paid the rider and walked in with my full chest bouncing.

Oh, and did I forget to mention? I wore shapewear from Getfit. It’s for health purposes o, not because I’m snatching my waist for Tunde to see.

Signed in, started work. Chatted with Cynthia a bit because, honestly, we don’t hate her yet. It’s not like she’s official with Tunde. Hopefully they’ll never be.

Adam came downstairs a couple of times, especially to my side of the office. It was obvious he was checking me out, but please, I’m married to Tunde na.

Lunch break came, and Cynthia and I went downstairs to get food. We were still at the gate when Tunde and Adam walked up to us.

We exchanged pleasantries and Tunde complimented my outfit and perfume.

Guyssssssssss, I mean… who wouldn’t?

Adam added a few too many compliments, but I wasn’t moved. Cynthia told Tunde we were heading to get food, and we all went together.

But omo, Cynthia was all over him. You know how girls overdo when they like a man? God forbid. It can never be me. Ugh.

I was about to forgive this girl o, but not again. I swear, I couldn’t even eat. Ended up gisting with Adam—he’s actually funny sha. If only he were Tunde. Ugh. Let me just use him to while away time till Tunde falls in love with me.

We finished eating and went back to work. The day ended, and we all hung out at the lounge again. Everyone was laughing, and Tunde complimented my dimple.

I smiled, then Cynthia quickly said she had two dimples while I had one. Tunde smiled.

Whatever.

Days went by, same routine. I’d wear body-hugging clothes, shapewear underneath—normal hot girl behavior. Adam eventually asked me out the second week, but I told him straight up I wasn’t interested in a relationship. He understood, so we stayed chill.

But me? I was still thinking about Tunde.

One day, I asked Adam for his number and finally texted him. I also posted like six or seven videos of myself on my WhatsApp status. I was just promoting body positivity, please—not doing too much.

But strangely, Tunde didn’t reply to any of them.

Those videos were tempting, and no man in his right mind would see that and not say something. But Tunde? Nothing.

Wait. Did he even save my number?

So all this stress is for nothing?

The frontal? The clothes? The lashes? And I even paid for CapCut Pro to edit those videos—and this guy no even save my number?

Fuck.

I don belittle myself.

Big men are toasting me, and I’m here wasting my time on one fine small boy.

You know what?

Tomorrow, I’m locking in.

No lunch breaks with them. No lounge after work. Just pure focus.

In fact, I already planned what to cook for lunch, so I won’t have to go with them.

I promise I’m not dramatic.

I just know my worth.
