Omo, today was such a stressful day at work, I almost lost my mind. So, I decided to hang out with Cynthia at this lounge beside the office. She’s actually the first person who talked to me and showed me around since I resumed. She started a day before me, so she already knew her way around and the people there. We were just talking about random things—how we were expecting more new faces before the week runs out and all that. Then Tunde and Adam walked in, and I swear, Tunde smelled so good. That man is tall, fine, and just effortlessly handsome. He talks slowly and calm, like he knows he’s got everyone’s attention. Adam, on the other hand… hmm. Let’s just say he was giving mid. Not ugly, not fine, just there. And honestly, I don’t even understand how he’s friends with Tunde. If it were me, I’d feel oppressed because what the hell. Anyway, they walked to the counter, ordered drinks and small chops, then came over to our table. Cynthia and I made eye contact and laughed because we both knew what was about to happen. They asked if they could sit with us, and of course, we said it was fine. Tunde sat directly opposite me, and Adam sat beside me. Cynthia was next to Tunde, and I don’t know what that girl said, but boom—they clicked immediately. Next thing, they were laughing and flirting, and me? I was just there, burning inside but pretending to be chill. Adam tried to start a conversation with me, but abeg, I wasn’t in the mood. I was giving one-word replies, and he clearly got the message. Still, we ended up exchanging numbers. At one point, Adam looked at Tunde and Cynthia and said, “You guys are cute.” I wanted to disappear. The waiter brought their order, they offered us more, but we declined. I just had to excuse myself at that point. Like, what do you mean my crush is vibing with my office bestie, and I have to act unbothered? Nah. I told everyone I was heading home to prepare for work the next day. That’s when Tunde mentioned that he and Adam were resuming in our office tomorrow too. My heart did one small dance. The only downside is that they’ll be in the HR department upstairs, but at least I’ll still get to see Tunde every day. And honestly, it’s not like he’s dating Cynthia. Maybe they just had a little vibe. Hopefully she’s not even his type because, let’s be real, I’ve got the curves, and formal wear looks different on me. Cynthia’s cute and all, but she’s kinda flat, and she gives that tomboy energy. Anyway, I’m definitely using this snatched waist to my advantage tomorrow. No one’s stopping me. Period. Clock that 🤏🏼🤏🏼🤏🏼.
