Give up, Friend.

That wasn’t a hook bait. No.

I don’t know if I’m delusional, but there’s really no universe where I believe in giving up on myself.

I don’t.

And before you roll your eyes at me and call this another motivational piece about “never giving up,” hear me out. Because sometimes, giving up is actually the right thing to do.

Give up on the version of the plan that clearly isn’t working.

Give up on forcing a door that was never meant to open.

Give up on people who have repeatedly shown you that they don't want to meet you halfway.

Give up on the need to have everything figured out before you move.

Give up on perfection.

Give up on the idea that resting means you are lazy or that changing direction means you have failed.

Sometimes, you need to give something up to make room for something better.

But giving up on yourself? That one, I struggle with.

I believe there is a difference between “quitting” and “changing course.” There is a difference between saying, “This isn't working, so I'll try another way,” and saying, “This isn't working, therefore I am incapable.”

The first is wisdom. The second is surrender. And I don't want to surrender to a bad chapter simply because I can't see the next one yet.

There will be days when the work feels pointless. Days when everyone around you seems to be moving faster. Days when you question whether all these applications, late nights, failed attempts, awkward beginnings and tiny improvements are actually leading anywhere.

Sometimes, you will genuinely need to stop.

Cry. Rest. Reassess. Maybe even walk away from something you once desperately wanted.

But after all of that, if there is still something in you saying, “Try again,” listen to it.

Maybe try differently this time. Maybe start smaller. Maybe ask for help. Maybe admit that your first strategy was terrible. 😂

But, keep going.

Because persistence doesn't always look like stubbornly doing the same thing over and over again. Persistence could look like changing the method without abandoning the mission.

So yes, give up.

Give up on what is destroying you.

Give up on what no longer makes sense.

Give up on the pressure to prove yourself to people who aren't even paying attention.

But don't give up on the possibility that your life can become something you are proud of.

Keep putting in the work.

Rest when you need to.

Rethink when necessary.

Walk away when wisdom demands it.

And if you still believe there is something worth building, then, give up on giving up and go again.
