Rape is one of the most serious and painful forms of sexual violence in society. It is not simply a sexual act; it is an abuse of another person's body, dignity, freedom and right to choose. Rape occurs when a person is subjected to sexual activity without their free and willing consent. RAPE often causes the victim to suffer not only from assault itself, but from shame, blame and rejection.

The society must learn to understand consent; consent basically means freely agreeing to sexual activity. Silence doesn't mean consent; being unconscious, intoxicated or otherwise, unable to make free decision cannot be treated as consent. Many women who experience rape struggle to live without fear. For centuries, woman's bodies have being violated, treated like object either judged, controlled or possessed. A woman has fundamental right to say YES or NO or NOTHING AT ALL . A woman should have her decision respected.

The effects of rape can extend far beyond the physical assault. Survivors may experience injuries, fear, anxiety, depression, shame, anger and difficulties with trust. Some may struggle to return to school, work or normal social activities. Others may remain silent because they fear being judged or not believed. These experiences show that rape is not an event that should be dismissed as something a victim can simply "forget."

One damaging aspect of rape is victim blaming. Women who report sexual assault are often blamed or questioned about their clothing, behavior or location. Statements like "why did you go there?" or what was she wearing." Such thinking is dangerous because it shifts responsibility away from the perpetrator.

THE RESPONSIBILITY OF RAPE BELONGS TO WHO COMMITTED THE ASSAULT.

Society often assume that rape is committed by stranger who attacked the woman. Often, it's someone you love and trust. Sexual violence may occur in relationships, marriage, friendships. RAPE there fore raises board question about how society view women. Women are taught to change their behavior to avoid being assaulted, while less attention is paid to the perpetrators accountable.

THE FIGHT AGAINST RAPE IS ALSO THE FIGHT FOR WOMEN'S DIGNITY.

A woman's body isn't a public property and her silence isn't her consent. Her relationship with someone isn't her consent, her previous sexual choices isn't her consent. RAPE against women is not simply an individual tragedy; it is a serious social issue that exposes attitudes about gender, power, consent and human dignity.
