You know, I kept reading, thinking, walking around the house and asking myself...

Was I melancholic?

Was I choleric?

Okay, I'm pretty sure I'm neither sanguine nor phlegmatic. 😂

Please, I'm not that introverted, neither am I too extroverted—the common traits associated with phlegmatic and sanguine temperaments respectively.

This Mr. Phlegmatic says I'm too introverted, easygoing, and would rather let things slide than create conflict.

Me?

I argue based on facts and logic.

I can't even let you step on my toes. The moment you're about to, I'll let you know immediately.

So... I don't think I'm phlegmatic.

That leaves me caught somewhere between choleric and melancholic.

Hmm...

Mr. Choleric says I'm bossy, strict, like things done my way, and I'm highly driven by achievement and good grades.

Let's see...

I'm not really bossy.

Yes, I like getting good grades, but I'm not obsessed with them.

And although I enjoy things going my way, I don't force people to agree with me.

Now Mr. Melancholic...

He says I'm emotional, sensitive, and a perfectionist.

I feel things deeply.

I'm a very observant person.

I selectively make friends.

I enjoy my own company, but my mood fluctuates, so I wouldn't completely call myself an introvert.

Hmm...

This actually sounds a lot like me.

So I'm guessing I'm about 80% melancholic and 20% choleric.

I think I finally found my temperament.

Choleric is probably my secondary temperament, while melancholic is my dominant one.

I just finished reading a book on temperaments, and I couldn't help but share my thoughts.

One thing I found really interesting is that temperament isn't the same as personality or character.

Your temperament is your inborn disposition. It can even be hereditary.

Your personality and character, however, are shaped over time by your experiences, choices, and environment.

This is how I picture it...

Imagine a house.

The house itself is your temperament.

The sitting room is your character.

The other rooms represent different aspects of your personality.

Depending on the situation you're in, certain "rooms" become more visible than others.

Your temperament influences your behaviour, and over time, that behaviour also shapes your personality.

But I also think our environment plays a huge role.

A melancholic person raised in a strict, aggressive home may turn out quite differently from a melancholic raised in a gentle, loving home.

Same temperament.

Different environment. Different expression.

What do you think your temperament is?

At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

We pick the top 3.

Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
