Your Circle Is Killing Ur Ambition
<p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>---</p><p><br/></p><p>Nobody’s sabotaging you.  </p><p>They’re just comfortable, and comfort is contagious.</p><p><br/></p><p>Think about it.  </p><p>When you start talking about starting a business, learning a skill, moving out…  </p><p>What do you hear?  </p><p>“Calm down.”  </p><p>“Why stress yourself?”  </p><p>“Life is okay like this.”</p><p><br/></p><p>They’re not evil.  </p><p>They just don’t want to lose you to a version of you that makes them uncomfortable.</p><p><br/></p><p>And slowly, you start to shrink to fit back in.  </p><p>You stop bringing up the idea.  </p><p>You stop staying up late to work on it.  </p><p>You start calling it “maybe later”.</p><p><br/></p><p>That’s how ambition dies.  </p><p>Not with a big fight.  </p><p>With small conversations that make you feel stupid for wanting more.</p><p><br/></p><p>I did this for a year.  </p><p>I remember telling my guy I wanted to start posting. He laughed and said “who go read that one?”  </p><p>I didn’t post for 3 months after that.  </p><p>Not because I couldn’t, but because I believed him.</p><p><br/></p><p>Every time I got excited, I ran it by my circle.  </p><p>Every time, I left feeling like I was overreacting.  </p><p>So I stopped trying.</p><p><br/></p><p>The moment I stopped explaining myself to people who were okay with staying the same, I started moving again.</p><p><br/></p><p>Real talk before you sleep:  </p><p>Who in your circle makes you feel smaller when you talk about your goals?</p><p><br/></p><p>You don’t have to cut them off.  </p><p>But you do have to stop running your goals by them.</p><p><br/></p><p>Because ambition needs space to breathe.  </p><p>And not everyone deserves a seat at that table.</p><p><br/></p><p>---</p>
