Nobody really talks enough about how sometimes being a Christian is saying "God is always good" with tears in your eyes while also wondering if heaven accidentally mixed up your file with someone else's problems.

Like God, I'm not Bin Laden, oh.

But do you know what I love about God? He is a God of many things.

The All-Knowing God, The Merciful Father, The Always-Victorious God, The Jealous God, but also the GOD OF COMFORT.

It's very easy to praise and dance shoki when things are going well.

Don't get me wrong, it is still good to praise God in difficult seasons. Satan probably hates it too. But let's be honest… sometimes you're not even in the mood to dance when "Onaga" by Tim Godfrey is playing. You want answers.

"Why me, God?"

"My country's problems are not enough?"

We've all been there. And in those moments, I lean on God.

Funny enough, it can feel like everything is falling apart… like this is the end. But somehow, right there in the darkness, the God of comfort shows up. Not always with answers. Not with the flaming angel I asked for, either, because honestly, if Angel Gabriel suddenly appeared in my room, I probably wouldn't sleep again.

But God showed up.

When Hagar was abandoned in the wilderness, God found her. When David was overwhelmed with fear, betrayal, and pain, God strengthened him, not by removing the battles, but by walking with him through them. When Elijah became so exhausted that he wanted to give up on life, God didn't rebuke him. He let him rest and gave him food. Honestly, sometimes when I'm "depressed," I sit down and ask myself: "Am I actually sad, or do I just need good food?"

When Paul the Apostle endured suffering, imprisonment, and hardship, God comforted him so deeply that he could comfort others. Sometimes you may go through hard times for the sake of others.

So what does this tell us? Comfort is not always where we want it. It could mean the unbelievable peace you feel when you sleep, the hope that things will be better, or the strength to keep moving. And the God of Comfort shows up when the prayer hasn't been answered, and the situation hasn't changed. And yet, somehow, you are still okay. That's how God shows up.

And let me tell you something: Once you truly experience the God of comfort, you don't panic the same way again. Even if things don't change immediately, you know this one thing for sure: You will not be left alone.

I pray that God wraps his mighty and loving arms around you, reminding you that you are seen and he is with you.

And yes, you can comfort me with some dollars.

Have a glorious Monday.

Love,

Twi-Twi, God's strong one.
