<p>Why is religion so important?</p><p>You think you've built a community,</p><p>but when you need them in hard moments,</p><p>they make themselves extra scarce.</p><p><br/></p><p>"My unmarried son is responsible for a girl's pregnancy, </p><p>I'm really scared and I don't know what to do"</p><p>Their answer: <strong>proceeds to quote a verse of the scripture taken out of context </strong>to validate their "right" to condemn.</p><p><br/></p><p>"I have HIV and the doctor thinks it might develop into AIDs soon"</p><p>Their answer: <strong>begin to stigmatise. Pull away or I might catch what they have</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>"I'm depressed.</p><p>Their answer: <strong>I</strong><strong>s this a sickness or what? I can't let you near my child or you might poison her/his mind.</strong></p><p><br/></p><p>They automatically focus on the "wrong" in the situation.</p><p><br/></p><p>Pastor Rob from a series, <strong>Young Sheldon</strong> made a statement, "This is the part of religion I don't like". </p><p>For more context (this is Christianity, but it could also be relatable to others), a family, whom I'll just refer to as the Coopers' 17- year old son, Georgie, engages in sexual intercourse with a woman, Mandy which leads to her getting pregnant <strong>and now I know that's wild, to be truthful but what exactly is to be gained from judging them? Why not help in any way you can? </strong>But that's not the mind of the church. The parents, children, even the Pastor, turn on them, despite the mother being an integral part of the Church's growth. I mean, what hasn't that woman done for the Church, honestly. They just discard her because of that one thing. </p><p>The only person who stays close is the youth Pastor, Rob.</p><p>Imagine, ONE person out of a whole congregation...</p><p><br/></p><p>So I ask:</p><p>What's the essence of the Holy book if you don't follow it?</p><p>Why's there even religion in the first place?</p><p>Why can't it just be a lifestyle instead because religion is a really poisonous, toxic, and dangerous institution.</p><p>Between bad and good, I can't even say how much it has brought to the world, generally.</p><p><br/></p><p>...this is just my thought though.</p><p>Feel free to drop yours below and maybe different angles could be shared?</p>
At the end of the month, we give out prizes in 3 categories: Best Content, Top Engagers and
Most Engaged Content.
Best Content
Top Engagers
Most Engaged Content
Best Content
We give out cash prizes to between 7 and 20 community members with the best insights in the past month.
The winners are picked by an in-house selection process.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know for the Best Content track
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.

We pick the top 3.
The winners are picked using the "Top Monthly Contributors" tab on the rankings page.
Contributor Rankings
The Rankings/Leaderboard shows the Top 20 contributors and engagers on TwoCents a monthly and all-time basis
— as well as the most active colleges (users attending/that attended those colleges)
The all-time contributors ranking is based on the Contributor Score, which is a measure of all the engagement and exposure a contributor's content receives.
The monthly contributors ranking tracks performance of a user's insights for the current month. The monthly and all-time scores are calcuated DIFFERENTLY.
This page also shows the top engagers on an all-time & monthly basis.
