"The Person You Pretend to Be vs. Who You Really Are. "

Sometimes, the person people see is not the person you truly are. You smile when you are hurting, say “I’m fine” when you are struggling, and act strong because you do not want anyone to see you falling apart. We learn to hide our feelings because we are afraid of being judged, misunderstood, or seen as weak. Slowly, pretending becomes easier than explaining what is really going on inside us.

The truth is, many people are fighting battles nobody knows about. Someone who always makes others laugh may go home and cry alone. Someone who looks confident may constantly question their worth. We often compare ourselves to the version of people they choose to show us, forgetting that social life is full of masks. Behind every perfect picture, cheerful conversation, or confident attitude, there may be a person simply trying to hold themselves together.

But pretending all the time can become exhausting. into someone else’s idea of who you should be.

At some point, we all need to put the mask down. You do not always have to be strong, happy, or okay. Being honest about your emotions does not make you weak; it makes you human. The person you truly are may not be perfect, but that person deserves to be known, accepted, and loved—not only by others, but by you too. When you constantly change yourself to please people, you may eventually forget who you are. You begin to live according to expectations instead of your own feelings, dreams, and values. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be accepted, but you should not have to lose yourself just
