19 and Still Figuring It Out
<blockquote style="text-align: justify; ">This is 19 (A Series)&nbsp;</blockquote><p style="text-align: justify; ">The last year of my teenage years and me, standing in the middle. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Just trying to figure my way out. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">I waited so long for this. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">The feeling of growing up, becoming something, someone. </p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">I thought 19 would feel powerful. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">But now that it’s here, I just want to go back. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">It’s been three months already, but they feel like three years.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Each day tugging at my shoulders with more questions than answers. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Time is moving so fast, and yet I’m still trying to catch up. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">And in all this, I want to turn 6 again. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Carefree and cheerful with no concern for emails.</p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">But as the weights drop, I see her: me. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Shining, not because she has everything figured, </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">But because she’s still showing up, still dreaming. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Still trying. </p><p style="text-align: justify; "><br></p><p style="text-align: justify; ">I can see it. I can feel it. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">The version of me I’m becoming. Even if it’s slow and hard. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Just a little longer. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">A little while. </p><p style="text-align: justify; ">Because growing up doesn’t happen all at once.
