A Different Grief (When a Distant Crush Dies)
<p>Grief most often comes from losing someone you knew pretty well. </p><p>Or at least someone you had a connection with. </p><p><br></p><p>But mine is different, </p><p>I’m grieving someone I barely knew. </p><p>A distant crush. </p><p><br></p><p>We never really talked. </p><p>Only shared occasional nods. </p><p><br></p><p>I remember him saying my name once, </p><p>And I was swooned. </p><p><br></p><p>But now he’s gone. </p><p><br></p><p>Why does this hurt differently? </p><p>His death. </p><p><br></p><p>I’ve cried my eyes out. </p><p>Questioned no one in particular, </p><p>Would we still meet? </p><p>Would there ever be a chance? </p><p><br></p><p>In all, I wish I reached out. </p><p>Had a proper conversation, </p><p>Or got to know him better. </p><p><br></p><p>But here I am, living on “I wish”. </p><p>And learning so hard to stay in the moment. </p><p>Because life doesn’t wait. </p><p>It never will. </p><p><br></p><p>So talk to that person now. </p><p>Send that message. </p><p>Because who knows?</p><p>There might be no tomorrow. </p><p><br></p><p>- For ED.&nbsp;</p><p><br></p><blockquote>I've shared my story.
