A Thought I’ve Been Carrying…will bullying ever end??

I don’t think I’ll ever stop hating bullying. Not just what it looks like on the surface, but what it does deep down to someone's confidence, their sense of safety, their mental health. The scars aren’t always visible, but they last a long time.

I was mildly bullied in boarding school. It wasn’t physical, but it stung. I got picked on, excluded, mocked sometimes for no real reason. And when you’re still figuring yourself out, those things hit harder than they should. It might not have made headlines, but it changed something in me.

But what hurts more is the things I’ve seen happen to other people.

I’ve seen students have their hair forcefully cut by other students—not by staff, not for hygiene, but as an act of humiliation. Just because someone thought they could. I’ve seen kids held down, insulted, ganged up on, made to feel less than human.

And then there are the ones who didn’t survive it.

Children iteral children who took their own lives because the bullying became too much. The name-calling, the beatings, the public shaming. All of it. Imagine how broken someone has to feel to believe that death is their only escape. That shouldn’t ever happen. Not under any roof where adults are meant to be protecting them.

This is why I say bullying is not just “kids being kids.” It’s abuse. And it should be treated as such. Bullies who cross the line into emotional and physical torment should be expelled. And if the damage they cause is serious if it leads to trauma, depression, or worse they should be charged in court.

Because the victims deserve more than a whisper and a "sorry it happened." They deserve justice. Protection. Healing. Support.

So yeah, I’ll always speak against bullying. Always. I’ll never defend a bully. I don’t care who they are or what excuses they make.

And if you’ve ever been bullied you’re not weak. You’re not dramatic. You’re valid. And I’m so, so sorry you had to go through that.

You didn’t deserve it. You never did.
