Africa bleeds again

"Africa Weeps in Silence"

The drumbeats echo through the plains,

Once proud with dreams, now bound in chains.

The sun still shines on golden land,

Yet hope slips through the people's hand.

The ballot box, a hollow shell,

Where truth once lived, now lies to sell.

The voices rise, but no one hears,

Their cries drowned out by greedy ears.

From Lagos streets to Nile's proud flow,

The seeds of justice fail to grow.

Corruption sits in thrones of gold,

While children shiver, sick and cold.

They promised schools, they built high walls,

They claimed to rise, yet let us fall.

They wear our colours, chant our name,

But play us in a losing game.

The youth, with fire in their chest,

Are told to wait, denied the test.

Bright minds are dimmed by power's lies,

As dreams decay beneath the skies.

Still mothers pray and fathers fight,

For morning to replace the night.

But dawn delays, and tyrants thrive,

As broken systems stay alive.

Oh Africa, so vast, so deep,

You rise, you fall, you bleed, you weep.

But still within your battered soil,

There sleeps the strength to end this toil.

One day your children shall arise,

With clearer hearts and wiser eyes.

To build the world you truly deserve,

A land of peace, of voice, of nerve.

Till then, we write, we speak, we warn—

Of all the dreams that died unborn.

Of governments that failed the test,

And left the people dispossessed.
