An Author Of My Tears II (Finale)

This is the finale to AAOMT, Will all be resolved? Will love be given a chance? Let’s all find out together.

:::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::::

Grimmm Grimmm, such were the loud sound that woke up me up from my sleep, I checked the time, it was 3:30 in the morning. Who could be calling my cell that early? I wonder..

I remember I didn’t pre-set any alarm nor any reminder to wake up whatsoever, so who could it be? As I raised my phone trying to check who the caller was, it ranged; this time around, I was active to pick it, even though my eyes were as heavy as the punching bag of a retired UFC champion, I still picked it up. Lo and behold; it was an unknown number.

  “Hi TaVI, it’s me Laura. So sorry to disturb you at this hour, Didn’t know who to call; since it’s your number that came to head, I decided to ring your line”.

For some minutes, I spaced out, not because of the call, but I was flattered by her words.

How so soon to have memorized my digits?

Am I to be flattered? Or just hear her out?

Is this a prank? Why would my number be the only thing that came to mind?

Hello, TaVI; are you there? I got snapped out of my soliloquy state, and so I replied “ I’m with you still”

What’s the matter? This feels a little early, as I was still sleeping when your calls kept dropping. I said!

Yes, you’re right, I didn’t mean to call you to cause you any distress, you came to mind, and so I had to ring your line, She said..

Alright Laura, it’s either you let me know what’s going on, or allow me go back to bed, I replied. In truth I was curious about what we she wanted to say. Just as I was done saying that, I heard few noises, and it sounded a little heated( not an argument, but sounded like something was going on bts)

And so, “Laura” said, you see? That’s the reason I’ve been calling your line, we’re all ladies living in this huge flat, with no male contender. We’re just here, everyone acting like bosses on steroids. I’m so sorry I disturbed your sleep.

One of our flatmates discovered a large snake in her closet, a big black Ball Python, with skin glowing luminous like a fluorescent. She’s had to run out of her place, she’s been at mine since 1:00am, with no male figure to help look into the situation. Thanks to neighbors from two blocks away, they must have overheard the screaming, and so they stepped in to help end its threat.

After saying those words, I once again spaced out;

All these for a snake?

She seriously woke me up cause of a snake?

Since when have I turned an exterminator?

Of course, I couldn’t tell her all that, I snapped from it and I let out a big laughter.

Am I even posed to laugh at what just happened? I don’t know. It’s weird, funny and confusing and at the same time flattering.

Are you seriously laughing? Laura seemed curious, with a confused tone.. How can you even laugh in this situation? She also started laughing

I said to her; You know it’s a bit confusing, and it’s also flattering.. calling me in the middle of the night cause of a snake seems kinda funny.

All in all, I’m glad you’re safe, and I’m glad everyone else is safe too. I replied!

“Thank you dear, if not for those neighbors, God knows what we’d be saying by now; I would have prompted you to start coming if not for them. She said.

I replied “ It’s so crazy how I single-handedly offered to escort you down to your place, but you refused. Who’d have thought a snake would wanna pioneer my August visiting?” We started laughing uncontrollably, few minutes later she said she’d like to retreat into the night, as her phone’s had a flat battery, which is why she called with her flatmate line. We said our byes, and she ended the call.

I reached for the edge of the bed, sat down with my face locked in on my phone screen, soliloquizing;

A snake? Who would’ve thought?

My digits came to mind, Really?

Need to add Exterminator to my collection soon( I let out a low smile) as I slightly retracted onto the bed.

Just as I tried to close my eyes, my phone ringed again, this time it was her number “Laura Cafeteria” I sluggishly picked it up with a low voice “hIII”.

She informed me that power had been restored, and she couldn’t get no sleep, so she decided to call in. I told her it’s all good, since I won’t be getting into bed anyways. Lies!!!

I lied, but it was worth it, at least she was kind enough to have memorized my number within that short period. That was the sense I gave it, I tried to justify her actions by denying myself off of sleep at that moment, since she’d be doing the same too.

We talked and talked, shared experiences, we sang songs together, went over plans and possible outcomes of it. So may areas were covered, we chatted as though we’ve known each other for long.

I let out a big yawn “Huhhhhhh” and said “Think imma call it a night or day, lol; since it’s 7:00am already, and I’ll need to be somewhere around 11:30 or 12:00pm.

Laura replied and said “I honestly wish for our conversation not to stop, I value the short convo we’ve had”

Said in my head “Short?” Who would tag that convo a short one? I let out a big laugh and she reciprocated..

We shared our byes, and I waited for her to end the call. I could’ve been the gentlemen and ended the session, but I didn’t do that on purpose, just to save myself.

Upon successful dismissal, I didn’t even think twice about how untidy the bed looked, after I’d rolled over it till the morning; I yanked my singlet off, and I remembered I told her I’d be heading out by 12:00 which was a bloody lie btw. I made a spread, and just played there till I drifted off to sleep.

Days became weeks, weeks turned months, and our routine went on smoothly for about 1 year $ 4 months, atp we’ve become lovers, and she’s started sleeping over at mines, and I also at hers.

It was during the 4th month, complications started surfacing,

We’re fresh, we shouldn’t be having issues like this very early into our relationship. I said.

Laura replied “That’s your cup of tea” I knew you were good for nothing, you have words, but nothing else to show for it. Your mates are out there satisfying their partners, but you’re here, you can’t give out ordinary 50k. Shame on you! I requested for just 50k, you couldn’t provide it. See, I’m even tired, whatever it is that wants to happen should happen.

Can you even hear yourself Laura? I replied.

“Just 50k? Ordinary 50k? That’s what some staffs at various institutions take home as their salary, and they wouldn’t even dare utter such words. I’m disappointed at you for uttering such words.”

Let me make something clear to you. I further more extended my dissatisfaction towards her speech. “Women also take care of those they love, if you see how women make things easy for those they love, you’d marvel at such wonders” The little I have, I give. And you’re here complaining like you don’t know how things are? You’ve just made me feel irritated at you, let me just take my leave. Don’t bother to contact me; I said.

F*** you TaVI, F*** you,

It’s kukuma not your fault, I stooped so low to your level, that’s why you feel you can walk out on me. That’s how broke N*****s act anyway. I’m not surprised. Comman see how rich men treat their lovers outside, you’re clearly not ready for this life. Pls delete my number on your phone, as I’ve deleted yours. Thanks for all you’ve done; even though it’s less. Laura said.

I stormed out of her place with anger stopping the next bike, directing him to my own place, as I kept thinking about all her words.

So this is who Laura is? Someone I love so much, I didn’t even think she’d act this way, I treated Laura as my wife to be; why’d she do this?

To think I’m planning a surprise birthday party for her? I’m glad I didn’t go extra mile for someone who thinks otherwise of me, was also sad at that moment, but still focused. I was still on bike when a text message popped in;

“ Thank you for everything TaVI, I pray never to meet someone as broke as you ever again!”

That felt a little too much, but the deed was done, and I didn’t even bother to reply, I just deleted it, and I got to my street just at that time.

I went into the room with anger, almost hitting my head on the wall.

Is this all I get?

All the late night/ early morning calls resulted to this?

I’ll never truly love anyone again, I make a promise to also waste their time, to also cause them pain, to bring them hurt and massive backbite.

     The End!🙂‍↔️
