Episode 3: The Footsteps Above
<p>The footsteps grew louder, heavier, as if something was deliberately making its presence known. Emma's team exchanged fearful glances, their eyes wide with anxiety.</p><p><br></p><p>"What was that?" one of them whispered, tugging on Emma's arm.</p><p><br></p><p>Emma's grip on the journal tightened. "I don't know, but we need to get out of here. Now."</p><p><br></p><p>As they turned to flee, the footsteps stopped. The silence was suffocating, like the calm before a storm. Emma's team hesitated, unsure what to do next.</p><p><br></p><p>Suddenly, a door slammed shut upstairs, making them all jump. Emma's flashlight flickered, casting eerie shadows on the walls.</p><p><br></p><p>"We need to check it out," Emma said, her voice firm despite the fear creeping up her spine.</p><p><br></p><p>Her team reluctantly followed her as she crept up the creaking stairs, the darkness seeming to close in around them.</p><p><br></p><p>As they reached the top, Emma saw it: a door at the end of the hall, slightly ajar. The same door that had slammed shut.</p><p><br></p><p>"Guys, I think we're about to find out what's going on here," Emma whispered, her heart racing.</p><p><br></p>
