Fifty shades of grief
<p>Sometimes it's tears,</p><p>Sometimes it's intense yearning,</p><p>Sometimes it's laughter,</p><p>Sometimes it's guilt,</p><p>Other times we can't explain whatever we feel.</p><p><br/></p><p>Grief is many things,</p><p>Good isn't one of them.</p><p>It wasn't just one person that died that day,</p><p>A version of us did too</p><p>The version of you and I that make us the people we are.</p><p>The people we were.</p><p><br/></p><p>I'm not one to question the universe, or God </p><p>I never did.</p><p>Well, not until you were forcefully taken away from me by the cold, calloused and harsh hands of death.</p><p>I still do.</p><p>WHY?</p><p><br/></p><p>You didn't deserve that </p><p>You wanted to live.</p><p>I saw it in your eyes,</p><p>In the way you fought bravely and silently every day.</p><p>You deserved all the good things of the world, and I was going to give them to you.</p><p>Sooner or later.</p><p><br/></p><p>I wasn't ready to let go.</p><p>But I did.</p><p>Did I?</p><p><br/></p><p>I'll remember the vibrance of your voice even when it's gone quiet,</p><p>The warmth of your hands when it's gone cold,</p><p>And the blissful beat of your heart against my ear even when it stopped.</p><p><br/></p><p>I haven't been able to comprehend the enormity of your absence.</p><p>I don't know if I ever will.</p><p>I can't see past it.</p><p>But I hope you're happy.</p><p>I hope you're resting </p><p>I hope heaven is treating you better than this world ever did.</p><p><br/></p><p>I miss you.</p>
