Food is Overrated!
Listen to this Insight
I can almost picture how you look when you read this statement: Utterly confused. Because how can food, the most basic necessity of life be overrated! At this point, I imagine you are also thinking, 'this is probably a click bait topic...it can't be true' Well, shocking news, it is true and I'll prove it to you. An average person eats at least twice in a day. Some eat three times or even more in a day and there are those who eat only once in a day because no matter how broke a human is, eating a meal must happen...but that's not even where my point is going to be so follow this post closely. We have people who believe that the more expensive a plate of food is, the better the food and those who will die on the mountain that cheap food taste better. Just for laughs, gather your friends around and throw the debate "Bukka food or Restaurant Food"...it will be very interesting to hear what people will have to say. Then there are those who will travel miles just to eat a particular food or starve because they can't have a particular taste? The ones who believe that unless their mother cooks a meal, it can't taste good. Why? Why so much fuss about food? Don't get me wrong, I agree that food is important. I love good food, I enjoy cooking and I love when people eat what I cook but sometimes I worry that the drama around taste and flavors and everything in between is just too much. People go out of their way sometimes to do strange things just to have a taste of a particular dish. Now, let me shock you once more, No matter how fancy a food is or how much it tastes like the bottom pot of your mother's kitchen, your body doesn't care. Food connoisseurs and enthusiasts are probably going to come for this article "What do you mean? So we can't eat fancy food…?" No, of course not...please do you but ultimately remember that food is just something that fuels us and so whenever you settle down to eat, rather than be dramatic about how juicy or soft or crunchy the meal is, focus instead on the nutrients it can offer your body. You can eat all the fancy food in the world but if it lacks important nutrients, then it means nothing to your body. That's why you'll eat so well, load your plates with all the food of your dreams and still end up too weak to function or unexplainably sick. Don't just eat because you are bored, stressed or craving a particular taste but rather focus delicately on what good it offers your body. 'But we live only once. I should eat whatever I want' of course you should but at the same time, make efforts to be conscious of what goes into your body. You will be grateful for it. So instead, what should be rated high and with all the drama in any food is the nutrient in the food. See, I did say I would prove it to you. Until next time!
