Times are changing and so are people with the times.
I grew up to know love and subsequently marriage to be a project, where both stakeholders commit to a plan - build and grow with their partner. You guys are going to have a better future. Marriage is in wealth and in lack.
Well, times have changed, that 'better future' had better be now or at least in the purview.
Most ladies who saw their mothers' dream of living a soft life come to nought and having to now struggle, figured that the difference can be as simple as one's choice or spouse (trust me, women tell themselves these things).
Money(comfort), no doubt is a very key element of happiness in a marriage. No pressure. It is just what it has become.
I remember someone with whom I had a rapport with beyond the platonic, ask me in her rare sincerity, "but do I have to build?". It gave me insight into what has now become the framework for this article.
I was also talking with Temidayo two weeks ago on this same subject on how that I had heard Rev. Sam was not as financially well to do as Pastor Nike, but she still saw the potential in him. She laughed and humorously said, "they are in the generation of our parents nau, even they cannot just give their daughter out to anyone". Hmmnn, I think it is for this reason that we would see less university couples morphing into marital couples.
Both sexes would rather take their pick when the dust has settled. I really don't blame anyone. I guess it is about loving with more brains than heart, which is not completely out of place, even as we intend to build.
Kindly leave a comment, would love to know what you think.
At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
