"How are you, really?"
<p>I thought I heard "How are you?"</p><p>But what I missed was the "really"</p><p>My default answer is usually "good"</p><p>Because I'm programmed that way, it's what society would expect, it's what I accepted</p><p><br/></p><p>But then she asked again, "How are you, really?"</p><p>This time I knew what she was after</p><p>She wanted privacy, not hers, but mine</p><p>She wanted to get into my faculties, my membranes, and no one was allowed to do that easily</p><p><br/></p><p>Because they would then know you for who you are</p><p>Behind your smiles, behind your eyes</p><p>Whatever hidden would be disclosed</p><p>And then your face would shift, and your mind would be ready to open</p><p><br/></p><p>Is she a friend or a counselor?</p><p>Why has she chosen to dismember me?</p><p>What I didn't know was she had to restructure what was already structured, to scatter the mess I put together</p><p><br/></p><p>The lies I called truth, the game-changer story I made up that would wreck me, playing the victim by throwing out my cards</p><p>And the truth is, I prefer the clubs and the spades</p><p><br/></p><p>She wanted to see behind my walls</p><p>"How are you, really?" she asked again</p><p><br/></p><p>"Well... what do you want to know?"</p><p>Every part or just the good ones?</p><p>The whole series or the best episode?</p><p>Will you judge, will you defend?</p><p>Will you correct, will you protect?</p><p><br/></p><p>I am... </p><p><br/></p><p>Let's start from the beginning.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>
