HOW TO GET THROUGH HARD TIMES
Listen to this Insight
I’ve come to terms with the fact that , a meaningful life is never an easy life. Hard times will come to us all, wether we like it or not. Each of us will have to go through seasons of despair in our lives at some point or the other. We don’t get to decide when . When hard times come, our instincts is to fight through them .Feeling like these experiences are unique to us and that we are alone in them ; we rush to solutions , distractions, behavioral change therapies, or atleast a positive silver lining . Well, the antidote to hard times is not to be found in attempts to cheer ourselves up. But instead to see hard times, in some way and on some level, as necessary seasons. Times in which we can drop the brave face and give ourselves a rest from pretending everything is okay .A break from the life we work so hard at holding up. We take the first step out of the hard times when we allow ourselves to feel it’s full weight .From here, we stop giving ourselves a hard time for having a hard time. From here, we can ask people to bear the weight with us , or at least to hold us . It’s from this place that whatever it is we’re going through begins to change. Hard times pass through , with as much certainty as any other season . Just like the rainy season makes way for the dry season … the seasons don’t fight each other .They let each other have their time .Take solace in this . How do you manage your hard times ? Let us know in the comment section below ⬇️.
