I accidentally applied for a job I wasn't qualified for .... and got hired

It all started with a typo.

I meant to apply for a part-time barista job, you know, the type where you smile, make coffee, and hope no one orders anything complicated.

But somehow — somehow — I clicked on a job listing for a "Senior Data Analyst" at a huge tech company.

I didn't notice the mistake until two days later when I got an email:

"Congratulations! You've been shortlisted for the Senior Analyst role."

I laughed so hard I almost spilled my cereal.

Me? An analyst? The last time I analyzed anything was when I tried to figure out why my WiFi stopped working.

Out of curiosity (and boredom), I showed up for the interview.

Everyone was wearing suits and carrying laptops. I came with a notebook and a pen I stole from my dentist's office.

When they asked me technical questions, I nodded thoughtfully and replied, "That's a great question. I believe the answer lies in synergy and strategic innovation."

(I had no idea what I was saying.)

After an intense five minutes of me throwing out random business buzzwords, they smiled and said, "You’re exactly the kind of fresh thinker we need!"

Two weeks later, I was sitting in a big glass office, pretending to "analyze data" while secretly Googling things like:

"What is Excel?"

*"How to act busy at work?"

"How much coffee can one drink before it’s suspicious?"

And guess what?

Last month, they promoted me.

Apparently, I'm now "Head of Strategic Analytical Operati

ons."
