Let the boy cry...

Who speaks for the boy child

when the world tells him hush?

When his tears are tucked

behind trembling smiles,

and his pain is buried

beneath “be tough”?

They told him,

Don’t cry. Be a man.

So he learned to clench his jaw,

bite the storm inside,

and wear silence like armor,

even when it cut.

He was seven

when scraped knees taught him

pain is weakness if seen.

He was twelve

when heartbreak whispered

but he never dared scream.

He was seventeen,

drowning in pressure,

but smiling on screens.

He was twenty-five

and almost gone—

because no one heard the scream

he never let out.

But one day,

he spoke.

Shaking voice,

soft like a cracked window

in a hurricane.

And someone listened.

Not to judge,

but to hold space.

And in that moment,

the boy inside the man

cried.

And nothing shattered—

except the lie

that silence makes him strong.

Now, he speaks.

And he tells the others:

Let the boy cry.

Let the man feel.

Let the silence break

before it breaks you.

Your softness is not shame.

Your voice is not a burden.

You are not alone.

You are loved.

You are seen.

And we want you here—

every part of you,

still breathing,

still growing,

still healing.

So to the boys

still hiding behind

locked lips and proud eyes:

You do not have to disappear

to be a man.
