The mirror showed me a smile.

I am unconvinced.

Something was amiss.

I step out... Unsure...

Mask with curved lips I was uncertain could be called a smile

What is this feeling?...

The winds... They speak...

Is it to me they whisper?...

Or am I merely a buffer, an insufferable wall between them and their intended recipients?

The ants are working...

A long slithering column

Lengthy and precise with order and duty

They waddle beneath shadows weightier than their frames...

I watch them... I step on them... They scatter... I smile...I cry...Why?

Wouldn't it be funny? I ponder...As I stumble upon a well.

If I were to just take a leap... Plunge

Wouldn't that be funny?

The winds again come...

"Jump" they say... This time more vocal than a whisper...

"You know you want to"

Foolish winds... I laugh... You know I couldn't even if I wanted to...

Strangely the winds had a voice quite like mine...

Indistinguishable even. Strange coincidence...

A mountain I sight.

A hill actually. A dwarf bearded with vegetation.

Climb! Climb! Climb!

The winds are persistent!

My limbs oblige and I begin to ascend...

My limbs displayed obedience only when mortality was on a stroll.

I walked up the dwarf's back.

Easily surmountable. I conquered it's peak. No steps missed.

The winds were not speaking... They were furious... My clothes billowing ferociously.

I see... They have lost their voice...But still I could make out their fancy.

Silly winds...

You know I won't jump no matter how much you tell me too.

I smile...

The horizon smiles back with the glow of sunset...

What do I do? I ask the setting sun...

The winds wish I took a leap...

Existence wishes me to descend...

I wish to do neither...

Up or down both lacked allure... Yet I must choose one.

The quest is binary... It's either this or that... With nothing to fill the void between...

Which do I take?

The sun sets without offering me solace.

I descend.
