Marked by blood

*📖 Episode 30

"Marked by Blood"*

Aisha’s legs trembled. Success stepped in front of her, shielding her from Zara—or whatever had taken over her body.

“Zara, it’s me
Success. You remember me?” he said softly, inching closer.

Zara tilted her head. Her eyes were glowing crimson now. “That name
is dead to me.”

Suddenly, she lunged.

Kunle tackled her mid-air, crashing them both into the wall. The symbols flared, burning his back. He screamed. Aisha and Amaka dragged him away while Denniem and Success circled the possessed Zara.

From the shadows, whispers crept into their ears—each whisper calling their names.

“The house knows we’re here,” Denniem muttered.

“Then we burn it down,” Success snapped, lighting a match from his pocket.

The moment the flame flickered to life, the room shifted—literally. The walls began closing in, symbols pulsing wildly.

“We need to leave!” Amaka shouted.

“No! If we leave now, she’s gone forever!” Aisha cried, pointing to Zara—now convulsing on the ground.

Denniem knelt beside her, chanting the words he had seen written on the glowing wall earlier:

*“Aye ko fi eje gbo—aye ko fi eje gbo
”*

(Let not the world drink blood...)

Zara’s body arched, screamed—and then slumped.

She blinked. “What
happened?”

“You came back,” Aisha whispered.

But behind them, the trapdoor slammed shut.

A deep voice boomed: *“One was spared. One must pay.”*

And slowly, Success looked down—blood dripping from his palm. A mark carved into his skin. A curse.

They hadn’t ended it.

They had only awakened it.
