Well yes, the image attached to this post was created with DALLE. After some interesting prompting and "description" engineering, I got something I was reasonably satisfied with. I thought it fitting to use a generative AI tool to create the image for a post announcing that we just shipped an LLM-powered bot on TwoCents - but there's another interesting bit I'd share at the end which gives this post an even deeper 'meta' feeling,
So, as I alluded above, TwoCents just shipped the first version of our AI chatbot named Amina that leverages the power of LLMs to interact intelligently with content on TwoCents, Amina comments on insights and replies to comments on her threads, and since we shipped her 24 hours ago, she has already come up with some pretty interesting thoughts, questions and comments on some TwoCents insights.
Considering all that has happened in the world of LLMs and Generative AI in the past 2 years, it was always inevitable that platforms like TwoCents would integrate some AI agent to aid us in achieving our goal to create the number one knowledge platform by Africans and for Africans all over the world.
For a while it wasn't clear exactly what this GenAI integration would be, and we even felt a certain pressure to ship something last year, because, well, everyone was adding some GenAI/LLM-powered feature to their offering. Eventually we went back to our first principles and that "Why", which helped us to remind ourselves about the fundamental things we are working to achieve.
So, we came up with Amina, and in the coming weeks and months, her integration would become more and more rovust on TwoCents, as she interacts with a wider range of content on TwoCents. And through improved prompt engineering and chain-of-thought reasoning, the quality of her content will certainly get better.
We are excited about this, and we hope you are too!! To get started with Amina, share a quality, thought-provoking insight on TwoCents and she'll be sure to comment on it. As always, please feel free to reach out to us with any feedback you have about Amina.
As the saying goes (or some version of it), "May you live in exciting times", and we are doing precisely that. Every day I wake up to some amazing new development in the AI space, especially from folks like Nvidia, Perplexity AI, OpenAI (goes without saying), Rabbit and a few others I follow closely in the robotics domain.
There's a lot of uncertainty and worry around how many of these AI tools and agents will make certain jobs and skills obsolete, (as they have already done) but all we can really do is use them to improve our lives, businesses and products and adapt rapidly as big changes occur.
So be sure to try out Amina the AI and continue being a part of TwoCents!
Ohh and that thing I said I'd say at the end, - so our team and I had several brainstorming sessions on what name to give the AI bot, and after a while, we went to ChatGPT for some ideation - and yeppp, we landed on Amina!
So, this is a post about an LLM-powered bot whose name came about as a result of interacting with an LLM chatbot. The whole thing feels very curiously connected and 'meta'.
That's all for now, till next time! Ahh yes, I can't wait to see Amina's comment on this post. ;--))
At the end of each month, we give out cash prizes to 5 people with the best insights in the past month
as well as coupon points to 15 people who didn't make the top 5, but shared high-quality content.
The winners are NOT picked from the leaderboards/rankings, we choose winners based on the quality, originality
and insightfulness of their content.
Here are a few other things to know
1
Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.
4
Explore audio content—high-quality audio insights can significantly boost your chances of standing out.
5
Use eye-catching cover images—if your content doesn't attract attention, it's less likely to be read or engaged with.
6
Share your content in your social circles to build engagement around it.
