"MY VALENTINE."
<p><br/></p><p>This year,</p><p>I will not wait for roses</p><p>that may never find my door.</p><p>I will not measure my worth</p><p>by the silence of my phone</p><p>or the absence of a name</p><p>lighting up my screen.</p><p>This year,</p><p>I will spend Valentine with myself.</p><p>I will wake up gently,</p><p>not to impress anyone,</p><p>but to breathe—</p><p>deep, slow breaths</p><p>that remind me</p><p>I am still here,</p><p>still trying,</p><p>still becoming.</p><p>I will wear something beautiful,</p><p>even if no one sees me.</p><p>Because I deserve to feel lovely</p><p>without an audience.</p><p>Because confidence</p><p>does not need applause.</p><p>I will cook my favorite meal</p><p>or order what I truly crave,</p><p>not what seems romantic enough</p><p>for a picture.</p><p>I will set the table for one</p><p>and sit without shame,</p><p>learning that solitude</p><p>is not the same as loneliness.</p><p>I will take myself out—</p><p>maybe to the quiet of the evening sky,</p><p>maybe to a long walk</p><p>where the wind becomes my companion.</p><p>And if I see couples holding hands,</p><p>I will not shrink.</p><p>Love is not scarce.</p><p>Their happiness does not cancel mine.</p><p>I will write myself a letter,</p><p>thanking my heart</p><p>for surviving what tried to break it.</p><p>For loving wrongly</p><p>and still daring to love again.</p><p>For carrying hope</p><p>through disappointments</p><p>no one knows about.</p><p>I will forgive myself</p><p>for the times I stayed too long,</p><p>for the times I left too soon,</p><p>for every “almost”</p><p>that still aches in quiet corners.</p><p>Tonight,</p><p>instead of candles for two,</p><p>I will light one</p><p>for healing.</p><p>One</p><p>for patience.</p><p>One</p><p>for the love</p><p>that is still on its way.</p><p>And before I sleep,</p><p>I will whisper to the mirror:</p><p>“You are not incomplete.</p><p>You are not behind.</p><p>You are not unloved.”</p><p>Because sometimes,</p><p>the bravest way</p><p>to spend Valentine’s Day</p><p>is not in someone else’s arms—</p><p>but in your own,</p><p>learning that</p><p>your heart</p><p>has always been</p><p>a home. ❤️</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p><p>NOTE TO SELF: Am asking myself this year again that"Abisola Sarah,Will you be my Valentine?"</p><p>OMG!!!!!
