SEASONS OF LIFE

Life moves in seasons,

like morning and night taking turns with the sky.

There is a season where the sun speaks loudly,

and a season where darkness answers with silence.

In the dark, status is humbled.

Even the most expensive wear does not shine in the dark.

Gold loses its language.

Designer labels forget their names.

And the cheapest cloth also does not shine in the dark.

Darkness is honest.

It treats all things equally.

What then makes the difference

is not the price of what you wear,

but the presence of light.

Light is the interpreter of value.

Light is the announcer of worth.

Without light, beauty stays mute.

Without light, effort remains unseen.

William Shakespeare once said,

“There is nothing either good or bad, but thinking makes it so.”

Yet even thinking needs illumination.

A mind in darkness doubts its own strength.

Some people are not empty.

They are only unlit.

You may have fuel in your calling,

power stored in your purpose,

talent waiting patiently in your hands.

But you sit still, not because you lack fuel,

but because your headlight has not come on.

Fuel without light is movement delayed.

Fuel without light is potential parked by fear.

Fuel without light is destiny waiting for permission.

Aristotle said,

“Where your talents and the needs of the world cross, there lies your vocation.”

But crossing requires visibility.

No one drives confidently on a dark road

no matter how full the tank is.

Dark seasons are not punishment.

They are preparation.

They teach the eyes to recognize light.

They train the heart to value direction over speed.

Confucius reminds us,

“It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop.”

Yet stopping in darkness is often wisdom,

waiting for light before motion.

Do not envy those glowing in their summer

while you are counting stars in your night.

Night has its own assignment.

Seeds understand this truth.

They grow in darkness before they rise into daylight.

Light will come.

Clarity will come.

The headlight will come on.

And when it does,

the same fuel that waited patiently

will carry you forward with precision,

with confidence,

with purpose.

Because in every season of life,

darkness is not the end of the journey.

It is only the pause

before illumination speaks.
