THE POWER OF WORDS (The Power of Words to Shape Reality) Part 2

The words we speak are not just reflections of who we are—they also have the power to shape our world. Our speech influences how we perceive ourselves, how others perceive us, and how we navigate our reality. The old adage "you are what you say" is not just a motivational cliché; it is a psychological and philosophical truth. When we constantly speak words of affirmation, encouragement, and positivity, we create an atmosphere in our own lives that is more conducive to growth, opportunity, and success.

For example, when faced with a challenge, a person who speaks words of resilience and hope to themselves is more likely to find solutions and take action. Conversely, someone who repeatedly uses language of defeat, self-doubt, or pessimism will be more inclined to stay stuck in their circumstances. In this way, speech is a tool of both self-definition and self-creation. What we speak consistently can determine the trajectory of our lives, for better or worse.

<del>Unguarded Speech: The Heart of Excellence</del>

<del>
</del>It’s easy to be deliberate and intentional about our speech in controlled settings—when we’re trying to make a good impression or win an argument. But it’s in those unguarded moments—when we are with friends, alone, or in the midst of stressful situations—that our true speech emerges. This is where the true test of our excellence lies.

Unguarded speech often happens when we are caught off guard, when we forget to "put on a mask" or try to perform. In these moments, our words come from a deeper place: a place of vulnerability, authenticity, and often, raw emotion. What comes out in these moments can be illuminating. Are we kind even when we’re frustrated? Do we listen with respect, or do we dismiss others carelessly? Do we speak words of gratitude, or do we complain?

In this sense, the unguarded nature of our speech is where we must focus our attention if we truly want to cultivate excellence in our lives. To be excellent, we must take responsibility for the words we speak when we are least prepared. This is the true test of character—the ability to maintain composure, respect, and compassion in moments of weakness, stress, or discomfort. If we can master this, we unlock the possibility of living an excellent life.

#noble #completeness #kingtacue
