The safety of being invisible. Part 4(Reunion)

Adaugo left the hall feeling very sad that her own friend wasn't available to encourage and cheer her up when she needed her. The applause and hugs from others didn't have much meaning like the space Amanda already occupied in her heart.

She got to her hostel and threw herself on the bed. She suddenly sat up...

"I am supposed to be happy I mean I did well, I actually did it! I faced everybody and I presented not just presenting, I presented well and was applauded!!!" Adaugo's face lit up with joy reflecting over her little achievement. She blushed with joy and wonder at how she could have ever done that alone! "I need to get you something nice Ada. You've done well today." She said to herself as she stood up from the bed, dressed up to go out.

"Hiiii philosopher" Amanda said over the phone. "I am at your door, please open up" Amanda said.

Amanda entered with a huge smile on her face and immediately jumped on Adaugo.

"Girlllll you did it! I mean I am a good mentor at that. I was absolutely awestruck watching you but then I was proud, I was proud it was you. You made me proud, baby. Come here" Amanda pulled her close and hugged her again.

Adaugo who was holding a little grudge against her almost forgot she was supposed to be sad about Amanda's earlier behavior. She disengaged herself from Amanda.

"Well Amanda, I needed you at that moment to yunno ginger me up and encourage me to even ease the tension cause it felt like I was going to explode. I was just holding back. I mean after my presentation, you were no where to be found. You were supposed to be there applauding and even congratulating me first but then it was just our coursemates. You know very well I don't mingle with everyone yet you left like that. I felt more like a loser than a winner...I mean not completely tho but then, you shouldn't miss your bestie's best moments. I won't hide it, I am actually angry oh" Adaugo complained like a little baby to her elder sister.

"I knew you would feel bad which is why I got you this" Amanda pulled out neatly wrapped object more like pencil-shaped and handed it over to Adaugo. "I went to the rest room because I was having cramps at that moment and I couldn't make silly mistake of making such awful faces at you because of the pain- it would disrupt your presentation because you would be thinking I was feeling that way about you. I am so sorry. But I am here now, can you forgive me, please? Amanda pleaded with her irresistible pretty face, looking innocent.

Adaugo unwrapped the gift and it was a pen!!!

"Amanda, what is this?" Adaugo asked as they burst our laughing.

"That's my little way of encouraging and rooting for you"

"But wait o, with a pen? Like just pen? As howww? Adaugo laughed.

"Well, not just that. I came so we can go out and have a little celebration. Since you are already dressed I guess you won't be lazy to follow me this time. Hey, it's about you and this little achievement. We have to celebrate to encourage your inner self that you are good at what you do and can still get to the best of you regardless" Amanda spoke to Adaugo always like the big sister that watched over her little sis.

"Yes ma" Adaugo said as she packed her hair in a bun on a pink sundress.

"But joke apart, I be fine babe o. Ayyyyy see God's creation nau!" Adaugo said as she admired herself in the mirror.

"Madam, there's no time for all these things abeg" Amanda said, jokingly.

"Jealousy makes people ugly yunno"

Amanda took her pillow and threw it on her. Adaugo dodged and laughed.

Amanda sat down, wondering what could have happened and looking for the right opportunity to ask Adaugo about the Herbal drop. She used her eyes to scan the room but fortunately, Adaugo had hidden it somewhere safe for next time.

"I won't quit, if it doesn't work now, it will work later." Amanda looked up with a smile as they went out of the room.
