The small step

Ada always sat at the back of the class, quiet and unsure of herself. She believed success was only for people who were naturally confident and gifted. Each time she failed, she felt like giving up.

One day, her teacher told her, “You don’t need to be the best. Just be better than yesterday.” Those words stayed with her. Ada decided to take one small step each day reading a little more, asking one question, trying again even when she was afraid.

Weeks later, Ada noticed something had changed. She understood her lessons better, spoke with more confidence, and no longer feared mistakes. By the end of the term, she stood proudly to receive an award for improvement.

Ada smiled, realizing that motivation did not come from winning, but from choosing not to give up. 🌱
