Until the cold forgets me
<p>I'm colder than usual.</p><p>Heat is foreign to my toes,</p><p>my fingers tremble like they’ve lost memory of touch.</p><p>There’s something stirring inside me...</p><p>not pain,</p><p>not numbness,</p><p>just a frostbite brewing beneath my skin,</p><p>settling quietly at the core of my heart.</p><p><br/></p><p>I walk through the day wrapped in clothes</p><p>but never in comfort.</p><p>Blankets can’t reach what’s freezing inside.</p><p>Laughter feels distant,</p><p>like it's echoing from behind thick glass.</p><p>I smile, but it doesn’t melt anything.</p><p><br/></p><p>Maybe a hug could fix this.</p><p>But not just any hug.</p><p>I need one that crushes the space between us.</p><p>A hug so deep my bones stop shaking.</p><p>A hug that feels like shelter</p><p>when everything inside me feels like a blizzard.</p><p><br/></p><p>I have an itch to be held,</p><p>by arms bigger than mine,</p><p>muscles stronger than mine,</p><p>a chest I can rest against,</p><p>long enough to forget how empty I’ve been feeling.</p><p><br/></p><p>I want to disappear into someone’s warmth,</p><p>someone who won’t flinch at my silence,</p><p>someone who sees the icicles in my words</p><p>and stays anyway.</p><p>No questions, no fixing.</p><p>Just presence, pressure and peace.</p><p><br/></p><p>Please just hold me.</p><p>Wrap me up like you mean it.</p><p>Like you’ve been waiting to.</p><p>Like you can feel the cold seeping out of me.</p><p>And maybe—just maybe</p><p>if you hold me long enough,</p><p>this pain inside me will fade.</p><p><br/></p><p><br/></p>
