What you like may not make you rich!

I believe one of the most misunderstood words is "passion". Truthfully, I still struggle to understand it sometimes. I think some people are merely interested in things but claim to be passionate about those things. Well, maybe passion is a deep interest, so they are not entirely wrong! I often hear people, particularly young people, make a case for how passionate they are about certain things.

Don't get me wrong, passion is good and necessary, but I don't think it's a "skill"! I may be wrong though.

I'm saying this because a lot of people are crazy about doing things they like. Some even quit their jobs to do things they like (passionate about).

Think critically before you make your move.

This is my point- doing what you like may not make you rich, but it could give you some level of satisfaction (not necessarily in monetary terms). However, if you want to earn from it, then you'd have to build the perception that it's your business. In other words, turn your passion into a profitable business! Learn how to be so good at it that people can't ignore you.

Hone skills that would make you excel in that "field" and start getting transactional. Even if you want to serve humanity or do it for free, keep in mind that there will be costs. Besides, you'll have to eat!

Simply put, "passion is not enough."

I'm not trying to dampen your faith but it is what it is. Nothing happens if nothing is done. Passion is just fuel. You must do something reasonable with it. A lot of people need direction or else your passion would drive you crazy! It's okay to be mentored and to seek help from those ahead of you.

Learn Unlearn Relearn
