WHAT’S GOING ON?

As I sat on the couch, surrounded by the quiet of the night, I couldn't help but wonder, what's going on? What's happening to us, to our world, to our humanity? We're living in a time of unprecedented complexity, where the lines between reality and technology are blurring, and the pace of life is accelerating at an alarming rate.

I thought back to the conversation I had with Rachel earlier that evening, about the beauty of a woman, and the importance of cultivating love and connection. But as I looked around our cozy living room, I couldn't help but feel a sense of disconnection. We're living in a world where everyone is connected, yet feeling more alone than ever.

I thought about the state of our world, the social injustices, the inequalities, the suffering. We're living in a time of great upheaval, where the old systems are crumbling, and the new ones are yet to be born. We're struggling to find our place in the world, to find our purpose, our meaning, our reason for being.

As I sat there, lost in thought, I realized that what's going on is not just about the world around us, but also about what's going on within us. It's about the state of our own hearts and minds, our own sense of purpose and meaning.

Just then, our youngest child, Diepreye, who was sleeping in his crib, let out a soft coo. Rachel and I exchanged a warm smile. Diepreye was a blessing, a reminder of the beauty and wonder of life. Our older children, Daisy and Daniel, were sleeping peacefully in their rooms, unaware of the weight of the world.

I looked over at Rachel, who was sitting on the other end of the couch, staring at her phone with a look of concern on her face. "What's wrong?" I asked, feeling a sense of unease.

"It's just the news," she replied, shaking her head. "It's all so overwhelming. The division, the hate, the fear. It's like the world is spinning out of control."

I nodded, feeling a sense of agreement. "I know what you mean. It's like we're living in a world that's gone mad."

But as we sat there in silence, I realized that we're not just passive observers in this world. We're participants, we're creators, we're co-conspirators in the creation of our own reality.

And so, I asked Rachel, "What can we do? How can we make a difference in a world that seems to be spinning out of control?"

Rachel looked at me, her eyes shining with a sense of determination. "We can start by taking care of ourselves, our own hearts and minds. We can cultivate love, compassion, and connection. We can be the change we want to see in the world."

I smiled, feeling a sense of hope. "You're right, as always. We can make a difference, one small step at a time."

And so, we sat there in silence, holding hands, and wondering, what's going on? But this time, it wasn't a question of despair, but a question of hope. What's going on is not just about the world around us, but also about what's going on within us. And that's something we can control, something we can create, something we can cultivate.
