When we met at the edge —the story of two oceans.

I am the Atlantic.

Bold, unpredictable.

My waves rise with stories of storms and salt,

of ships that crossed centuries and secrets I’ve kept buried.

I’ve always been vast too much for some, too unknown for others.

I don’t soften easily. I never needed to.

And then… I felt you.

I am the Indian Ocean.

Warm, calm—until I’m not.

My tides are deliberate. My depth, quiet.

I’ve been a keeper of peace, but I’ve known turbulence too.

I do not shout like others do.

I carry my strength in silence, in grace.

I never imagined meeting someone like you.

We approached.

Not with a crash. Not with conquest.

But curiosity.

You didn’t try to change my tides.

I didn’t need to match your waves.

We stood side by side—

not blending, not bending—

but still touching,

with awe.

You, all current. Me, all calm.

Different hues. Different depths.

Yet somehow, in that space where we met,

it felt like home.

We didn’t need to lose ourselves to belong to each other.

No collision. No force.

Just understanding.

You didn’t need to fit into my waters.

I didn’t need to match your storm.

We were enough—

as we were.

And in that moment, I learned:

It’s not always about becoming one.

It’s about coexisting with reverence.

Keeping our colors, our temperatures,

our histories.

But still meeting. Still choosing to stay.

Still rising and falling in rhythm

not the same rhythm,

but somehow, in sync.

We are two oceans.

Whole.

Different.

And beautiful,

together
