Jim Rohn once stated, “You are the average of the five people you spend the most time with".

What kind of friends do you have? Do they uplift or depress you? Are they go-archivers, or do they simply sit and criticize?

All of this should be considered when creating new friends. However, if your circle of friends fails to lead, support, and educate you. I’m not sure what you’re doing with them. It’s past time for you to move on without them to better your life.

Do you want to be successful in life? Then surround yourself with successful individuals. If you surround yourself with five successful people, you will be the sixth. So, make friends with successful people who will encourage you to achieve all of your life goals.

I once had friends who prioritised parties above every other thing. When they had parties to go to, they would call me and say, “Hey, my guy, we have a shutdown party coming up this weekend, and we’d love you to be there.” With the energy in their voices, you can’t help but have this vibe that the party will be a blast, and you’ll get to see old friends and make new ones.

I’ll accept and spend the rest of the weekend boozing and dancing to different sounds of music, accomplishing nothing. At some point, I gave a thought to my future, where I was going, and so on. I no longer had time to converse with intellectual people who could help me in my life. I got dissatisfied with everything and decided to change my course.

So, when I got into the university, I decided not to hang out with such types of people and to reroute my course. Even though several of them attended the same university as me. I refuse to go along with them. I blocked some of their phone numbers, and today, I’m glad and grateful I made a brave decision.

Always be aware that you are who you hang around with. Try to be wise and make good decisions that would better your future. Looking at Mark Zuckerberg’s life, he could not have created Facebook without the assistance of his friends Eduardo Saverin, Chris Hughes, and others. They aided him in attaining his goal, and today, Facebook is widely used by individuals from various countries, from which they earn greatly. These are the kinds of people you hang around with. Although I don’t know much about their previous lifestyles.

However, I believe Mark made the right decision in selecting people he called friends. You should also do the same. Have intellectual, creative friends in your circle who do not frequently party. Change your network of friends if you aren’t getting any good energy, motivation, or encouragement.

Quality over Quantity — You stand a higher chance of winning by publishing a few really good insights across the entire month,
rather than a lot of low-quality, spammy posts.
2
Share original, authentic, and engaging content that clearly reflects your voice, thoughts, and opinions.
3
Avoid using AI to generate content—use it instead to correct grammar, improve flow, enhance structure, and boost clarity.

Monthly Score
The Top Monthly Contributors ranking is a monthly metric indicating how users respond to your posts, not just how many you publish.
We look at three main things:
1
How strong your best post is —
Your highest-scoring post this month carries the most weight. One great post can take you far.
2
How consistent the engagement you receive is —
We also look at the average score of all your posts. If your work keeps getting good reactions, you get a boost.
3
How consistent the engagement you receive is —
Posting more helps — but only a little.
Extra posts give a small bonus that grows slowly, so quality always matters more than quantity.
In simple terms:
A great post beats many ignored posts
Consistently engaging posts beat one lucky hit
Spamming low-engagement posts won't help
Tips, comments, and upvotes from others matter most
This ranking is designed to reward
Thoughtful, high-quality posts
Real engagement from the community
Consistency over time — without punishing you for posting again
The Top Monthly Contributors leaderboard reflects what truly resonates, not just who posts the most.
