It can be likened to the gate of a fenced building, or the major entrance doors to our homes. If the gate or door is faulty and cannot close properly, snakes can pass through and cause harm to the occupants. You would probably not sleep with your eyes closed knowing that your gate is open and thieves can come in and do you harm.
