Social Media Is Making Us Feel Behind in Life

Sometimes I open social media just to relax, and somehow I end up questioning my entire life.

Someone just got a new job.

Someone is travelling.

Someone is getting married.

Someone is making money online.

Someone my age is already doing things I haven't even started.

And then that little thought comes:

“Am I behind?”

I've felt that way more times than I'd like to admit.

The thing about social media is that we mostly see people's best moments. We see the new car, not the financial struggle. We see the successful business, not the years of failure. We see the achievement, not everything that happened before it.

And somehow, we compare all of that to our everyday life.

I've had to remind myself that I'm still learning, still trying things, and still figuring out where I want to go. Just because someone else seems ahead doesn't mean I'm failing.

Life isn't a race with one finish line.

Some people get their breakthrough early. Others take more time. Some people change direction completely.

And that's okay.

I'm learning to appreciate my own progress instead of constantly measuring it against someone else's.

Because honestly, maybe I'm not behind. Maybe I'm just moving at my own pace.
