<p>I’d say he was brutally honest, but I don’t think that automatically makes him right. Saying leaders often have to choose between morality and survival is one thing; telling us to accept that as the way things should be is another. The fact that he supported republicanism makes him way more interesting than the villain I was taught about.</p>
