<p>This one really hurt. The notebook made the story so much more painful because Aisha finally got to see that her father had been trying to change, but shame kept him from reaching out. “I wasn't crying because my father had failed me, but because I never got the chance to see the man he was becoming” really stayed with me. Sometimes we don't realise someone is fighting to become better because we only remember who they used to be.</p>
