<p>There's something heartbreaking about the way this poem portrays love as both a battlefield and a place of refuge. What stood out to me is the ending, especially the line about missing the wars you missed as much as you miss the person. It captures that strange feeling of regretting the pain while still longing for the life and connection that came with it. And “they lived happily ever after, apart” is such a bittersweet conclusion.
